Debunked- Juice Cleanse

Juice cleanses have become very popular. Marketing has done an excellent job in convincing people that they need to drink juice to detox their body. In reality, they are pumping their body's full of sugar, fiberless fruits/vegetables, and a very small amount of calories. This is a recipe for disaster.

Have you ever heard of being hangry? Being on a juice cleanse is setting you up to be very hungry and unhappy. The process of taking the juice out of fruits and vegetables strips them of their fiber. Without fiber you are not going to feel full. There isn't a lot of protein, fat, or carbs in the juice either. Putting your body on a juice cleanse is really just starving your body of nutrients that it needs. If you go one day on a fast your metabolism can bounce back stronger. However, if you go longer than a day you are setting your metabolism up for slowing down.

if you lose 5-10 lbs on a juice cleanse you aren't truly losing that amount in fat you are losing that amount in water. You are going to gain that right back because you didn't burn anything off. So not only are you going to be hungry and unhappy you aren't losing weight or even detoxing your body. Save your money!

Your body is designed to detox itself. If you truly want to help it then eat raw leafy greens and chia seeds. Eat some spinach and kale- roughage is great for cleaning out the intestines. Eating chia pudding (with no sugar) is just as great. Chia pudding slides through the body and collects bacteria and any remaining toxins. If you want to give your body a little reset try these options. Also increase your daily water intake. Water helps your body detox itself by constantly flushing out the cells and replenishing liquids.
