The holidays can be a stressful time but there are easy solutions to managing those holiday meals. I understand the pressure that comes with hosting for the holidays. You want the food to be amazing, you want the decor to be amazing, and you want to come off calm and collected. All things that are achievable with good planning!
1. Survey the family
I send out a survey to my family on google forms to see what the top five sides people want. This way I don't make too many sides and everyone is getting what they want.
I put this in caps because I'm yelling at you to do it! Tell your family members to get involved! Have one family in charge of the appetizers and rolls, one family in charge of wine/drinks, and on family in charge of the desserts. Also, ask a family member if they would be willing to help you stay on top of dishes. Then you can focus on the main dinner and not worry about all the extras.
3. Prep ahead
For the things that I know I can make ahead I do. I either make dough ahead and freeze it or make the mashed potatoes and put them in the fridge and then bake them the next day. It just depends on what you can do ahead of time. Try your best to get things made early and then leave the next day for baking!
4. Don't sweat it
Sometimes not everything is perfect, and that's ok. Don't let it get to you if something doesn't come out right. Everyone will survive!
