Vegan Calamari


Ingredients: 1 can hearts of palm 1/2 cup gluten free flour 1/4 cup cornstarch Sprinkle of garlic powder Dash of salt 1 tsp of parsley 1/4 cup olive oil (for frying) plus more if you need it

Drain the hearts of palm and set them aside. In a bowl add in the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and parsley. Whisk it until everything is combined. Toss in the hearts of palm and, using a fork, cover them in the flour mix. In a medium sized frying pan pour in the olive oil. Bring the heat to medium, you want the oil to start to simmer but not pop. Add in the hearts of palm until the pan is full but not so full that you cant flip them over easily. After about 1 minute flip the hearts of palm and cook for an additional minute. Do this until they are all cooked.

Serve with your favorite marinara, red sauce, or vegan aioli.
