Yoga for Sleeping

Recently I have been having a hard time falling asleep, because my mind is constantly thinking about something. I'm thinking about the next blog I need write, the next recipe I should create, the next cooking class location... and for some reason my mind believes bed time is the perfect time to be thinking of all of this!

If you follow my instagram account then you know I love to weight lift. My muscles are constantly sore at the end of the day. I decided to do a slow yoga session one evening to stretch out my muscles because I could barely walk after a squat session! I did a 30 minute video of "night time yoga" and I ended up passing out once my head hit the pillow. 

I'm now incorporating this into my daily routine so that I can give myself some headspace to breath through the end of my day, let the day go, and release the muscle pain. Even when my mind does start to race I just start to focus on my breathing and eventually I nod off.

It has also kept my body feeling better for my work out the next day. The best part about doing yoga is there are tons of resources for great free yoga videos on youtube. I personally subscribe to Yoga with Kassandra. I like all of the different variations she has for yoga classes.
