FAQs

What is a Functional Nutritionist?

1

A Functional Nutritionist looks beyond symptoms to find the 'root cause' of illness. At Rose and Ginger in Austin, I use systems biology to look at how your gut, liver, and brain are communicating to help you recover from chronic issues that 'normal' labs might miss.

Do you see clients in person in Austin?

2

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! While I offer telehealth for convenience, I proudly serve the Austin community, including West Lake Hills, Tarrytown, and Rollingwood at the Texas Wellness Collective. I specialize in local environmental stressors like Central Texas seasonal allergies and mold exposure.

How is a CNS different from a health coach?

3

As a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), I hold a Master’s degree and have completed 1,000 rigorous clinical hours and board examinations. This allows Rose and Ginger to provide high-level, research-backed clinical nutrition support rather than general wellness advice

Can you help if my doctor says my labs are "normal"?

4

Absolutely. Many of my clients come to us because they still feel 'off' despite having normal lab results. We look at symptoms and functional labs to identify why your body is stuck.

Rose and Ginger Nutrition is a private-pay practice, which allows us to provide the high-level, unhurried clinical attention your case deserves. While we do not bill insurance companies directly, we can provide you with a Superbill (an itemized medical receipt) that you can submit to your carrier for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We also proudly accept HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards for all clinical consultations and functional lab testing.
